Our full private price list is on our pricing page. A new patient examination is £85 and an existing patient examination £55, both including any x-rays needed. Most treatment fees are “from” prices, for example white fillings from £99.75, root canal treatment from £295 and crowns from £595 per tooth, and yours is confirmed in writing before any treatment is done. A single implant is from £1,495 including the crown, plus £149 for the CBCT scan and implant planning unless you already have a suitable recent CBCT taken elsewhere that we can use. Several implants, bone grafting or a bridge on implants cost more and are quoted in writing after your consultation.
Private hygiene is direct access, so you can book a hygiene visit (£65) or GBT (£110) online with our dental therapists, Zoe Kemp and Fatima Ashraf, without seeing a dentist first. NHS hygiene needs a prescription from one of our dentists, so NHS patients see a dentist first. Not sure which to book? Our guide compares GBT with a scale and polish.
Private dentistry shouldn’t mean a lump sum. Treatment plans from £250 up to £5,000 can be spread over 6, 9, 10, 11 or 12 months at 0% interest — as an example, Invisalign Lite at £1,900 over 12 months works out at around £158 a month. Plans above £5,000 can be part-financed.

There are four Practice Plans, from £19.50 a month by Direct Debit, plus a one-off £9.50 joining fee, not charged again if you change plan or continue into another year. Every plan includes two examinations a year, small x-rays, priority booking for emergencies and 15% off private treatment, plus two or four hygiene or GBT visits a year, depending on the plan. The discount covers treatment such as fillings, crowns, veneers, bonding and gum treatment. Exclusions apply, including implants, Invisalign, teeth whitening, special-offer prices and extra routine hygiene visits. Our Practice Plan page compares the four plans and gives the full terms.

this place is truly the best. i was in edinburgh for two months and unfortunately had a very poor track record with chipping my two front teeth, and they handled my issues with such precision and care. everyone who works there is amazing, you walk in and immediately feel comfortable and they work incredibly hard in order to fit you in as soon as possible and meet whatever needs you have. i wanted to specifically say a huge thank you to dr. amir!!!! not only is he incredibly talented at what he does, but he reassured any panic i had surrounding my teeth/bonding and produced such an amazing product. i truly truly do not know what i would’ve done if i didn’t go to city dental. thank you all so much for everything and thank you dr amir for being the best at what you do !

The Princes Exchange Car Park is in our own building, accessed from Riego Street at the rear (9/2 Riego Street, EH3 9BL). Parking is payable: £3 for 1 hour, or £5 for up to 3 hours.

Book online, or call 0131 228 2442. We are open until 8pm Monday to Thursday and until 5pm on Friday. If you are nervous, tell us when you book and the appointment is paced around you; you’re also welcome to call in and see the practice first. In pain? Private emergency appointments are open to anyone, registered with us or not, and can be booked online: £85, including any X-rays needed, a temporary filling or dressing to settle the pain, a prescription if needed, and a simple extraction if one can be done in the same appointment.
