Call, email, message us on WhatsApp, or book online — whichever suits. We're on Earl Grey Street at Tollcross, a short walk from Haymarket Station, open until 8pm Monday to Thursday and 5pm on Friday. If you're in pain, say so when you call and we'll do our best to see you the same day. New NHS and private patients are welcome.

Message us for the quick things — what a treatment costs, whether we're taking NHS patients, opening hours, where to find us.
In pain? Phone, don't message. Call 0131 228 2442 while we're open and say you're in pain — we'll do our best to see you the same day. When we're closed, phone NHS 24 on 111: they run Scotland's out-of-hours emergency dental service. If swelling is spreading towards your eye or down your neck, or you have difficulty swallowing or breathing, call 999 or go to A&E. A WhatsApp message can sit unread while we're with patients, so please don't wait for a reply here.
While we're open, reception reads WhatsApp on the practice phone and answers by hand, between patients. When we're closed, an automated assistant usually replies — though if one of us has already answered you by hand that evening, it stays out of the thread and leaves you to us. It answers from what's published on this website — prices, opening hours, NHS charges, the treatments we do — and it reads typed messages, not photos. It is not a dentist, so it won't tell you what a symptom means, and it can't see the appointment book. Anything it can't answer, it says so and passes it to reception. Reply STOP at any time and it will stop replying to you — with one exception we would rather keep: if you write about swelling with difficulty breathing or swallowing, you will still get the reply telling you to call 999, and reception are told too, though not more than once every couple of hours. It works by recognising words you type, so please don't wait for it. Reception can still message you by hand.
Please don't send card details, bank details or ID documents — we'll never ask for them on WhatsApp. What happens to your messages is set out in our privacy notice.

Not sure which treatment you need, whether something is covered on the NHS, or what a treatment costs? Ask below and reception will reply — usually within one working day. For anything urgent, please call rather than write.

We are at 9 Earl Grey Street in Tollcross, at the Fountainbridge end, a short walk from Haymarket Station and from the west end of Princes Street.
The Princes Exchange Car Park is in our own building, accessed from Riego Street at the rear (9/2 Riego Street, EH3 9BL). Parking is payable: £3 for 1 hour, or £5 for up to 3 hours. The car park opens at 9.30am, so if you are driving to an earlier appointment we suggest street parking nearby. Blue Badge holders can park free on Fountainbridge, and we are a short walk from Haymarket Station.
Monday to Thursday, 8.30am to 8pm, and Friday 8.30am to 5pm. The evening appointments exist so that people who work during the day do not have to take time off to see a dentist. We are closed at weekends.
Telephone us rather than filling in a form. Private same-day emergency appointments are £85, including any X-rays needed, a temporary filling or dressing to settle the pain, a prescription if needed, and a simple extraction if one can be done in the same appointment. Our emergency page explains what happens on the day.
Our NHS list is open, and we also see patients privately. Bring any details of your previous dentist if you have them, a list of medicines you take, and your exemption details if you do not pay for NHS treatment.
In Edinburgh city centre, just off Lothian Road. There is a payable car park in our building (entered from Riego Street), and we are a short walk from Haymarket Station.
