Training and experience

Dr Vikas Sharda graduated BDS from the University of Glasgow in 2011. During his Vocational Training he was awarded 1st Prize for his Case Presentation by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow.

He has since completed postgraduate certificate and diploma qualifications in implant dentistry, and his work centres on dental implants and restorative dentistry, with an emphasis on careful treatment planning.

How he plans implant treatment

Every implant is planned from a 3D CBCT scan, which shows the height and width of the bone and where the nerves and sinuses sit. The scan is taken on our own scanner at the practice, and the in-house CBCT scan with implant planning is £149, unless a suitable recent CBCT taken elsewhere can be used. A single implant including the crown is from £1,495.

The first step is the initial implant consultation with him, which is free. The free implant consultation does not include the CBCT scan and implant planning, which is £149 when a new scan is needed. We take a deposit when you book; we confirm the amount then. It is credited against any treatment you go ahead with, or refunded in full if you don't go ahead with treatment, and our Failure to Attend policy applies. A free consultation is an initial consultation, not a full dental examination.

Implant referrals from other dentists

Dr Vikas Sharda accepts implant referrals from other practices. The scan and planning are done here, and once the implant treatment is complete the patient is discharged back to their own dentist for their routine care. Dentists can refer a patient for dental implants online.
