Nervous about the dentist? You’re not alone — and you’re not a problem

Dental anxiety is one of the most common reasons people put off care — often for years. If that’s you, nothing on this page will tell you off. It will just show you how we make visits manageable, and how to take the first step on your own terms.

Where anxiety usually comes from

For most nervous patients it isn’t really about drills — it’s about a bad experience years ago, the feeling of not being in control, or the fear of being judged for how things look now. Many patients carry the memory of not being heard. Our founders built this practice around the opposite: listening comes before anything else, and patient care isn’t a slogan — it’s the reason the Edinburgh press wrote that we “go out of our way to serve all our patients”.

How a visit works when you tell us you’re nervous

Hear it from the team, not a webpage

Below, Dr. Feras speaks directly to nervous patients — the same dentist you could see. Sometimes watching a calm human say “there’s no judgement here” does more than any article.

The first step can be tiny

Book online without speaking to anyone, or call and simply say “I’m nervous” — the team takes it from there. Evenings until 8pm Monday to Thursday, and Fridays until 5pm, if daytime feels rushed.
